Logging rushes & creating an edit decision list P4 (a)

Logging Rushes

Once I had transferred my footage I renamed my shots to match my shot list. The purpose of this was to allow me to easily organise my clips within premiere pro speeding up the editing process.

Once I had imported my footage I used premiere pro to view information about the footage, this information told me the Name, Frame rate, media start, media end, media duration, video in point, video out point and video duration.

In video production and filmmaking, SMPTE timecode is used for synchronisation, and for logging and identifying material in recorded media. During the video production shoot, the camera logged this data and allowed me to use the data for referencing those shots.
